Which IPL teams have given their best performances till now?

For any success in life, the credit goes to consistency. The Indian Premier League (IPL) has become one of the world's most popular sporting events. Thanks to its connexion with Bollywood, the IPL also caters to the not-so-hardcore cricket followers, the other prominent entertainment choice for the common Indian. In short, the IPL has mixed sports and entertainment, a formula that is a safe shot winner, which involves hotly contested sport at its heart. The second cycle of the IPL gets underway on 7 April 2018. Here is a look back at the most popular teams and players in the first 10-year period of cricket IPL.

The Mumbai Indians are at the top of the list with three titles. It's amazing to remember that MI didn't win a single title in the first five seasons; then three champions emerged in the next five seasons – all under Rohit Sharma's law. CSK and KKR have won two titles each in the first ten years; CSK could have made it a hat trick – if they weren't stopped in the tracks by KKR, who ended the 2012 Final in the final. Cricketers have made careers after playing in the IPL, and are, in many respects, synonymous with the brand. Raina, an important and versatile part of the Chennai Super Kings brand – so much so that he is referred to as Chinna Thala or Junior Chief – played more IPL matches than any other player. Lasith Malinga is the IPL's top wicket player. The Sri Lankans, who had with the Mumbai Indians in the capacity of the Bowling Mentor in the 2018 IPL, had a total of 154 wickets in the IPL. Malinga took the field for MI in 8 seasons – and in 2017, he picked up 15 or more wickets in 7 seasons. The wily leg-spinner Amit Mishra is the second in the 134 wicket list, while the off-spinner Harbhajan Singh completes the top three with a total of 127 wickets.

Not surprisingly, considering how many bowling attacks were demolished, Chris Gayle won most of the IPL's Man Match awards, with a total of 18 match awards – 14 of which he earned in three seasons (2011, 2012 & 2013). Yusuf Pathan, who was sensational, especially in the first two seasons, was second in the list; in the first two seasons of the league, he earned seven of his 16 awards. The most successful captain, finally. Not surprisingly, MS Dhoni is at the top of the list with a total of 83 wins. Captain Cool led the Chennai Super Kings past the league stage to the semi-finals/playoffs in each of the eight seasons in which they competed; CSK won the IPL title twice and finished second on four occasions. As far as the win percentage is concerned, Mumbai

Indian captain Rohit Sharma is marginally ahead; he has a win percentage of 61.3 percent, slightly ahead of MS Dhoni's corresponding 58.0 percent. The Royal Challengers of Bangalore have played in the finals for three years, but have not yet
won the trophy. They included risky top-order batsmen like Aaron Finch in the 2020 IPL auction. Other top players include Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. This year, Dale Steyn was retained and brought in Chris Morris, Isuru Udana, and Kane Richardson. The Kings included top-ranking batsmen Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, and Mayank Agarwal. KL Rahul is the captain of the 2020 team. The Men in Purple have a fun side to watch. Over the years, the team has achieved nail-biting victories. In the coming 2020 season, Australian pacemaker Pat Cummins and English World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan won the Kolkata franchise. Andre Russell's presence brings more glitter to the fearless cricket brand.
