6 – Robin Uthappa – Bought again by Chennai Super Kings for 2 crores.
The walking assassin was re-purchased by CSK in the mega auction for a base price of 2 crores. The 37-year-old was experimental and played crucial match winning knocks for Chennai in the last season and CSK management backed uthappa to fire him again for the 2022 season. Playing at a fiery strike rate of 163, Robbie scored 194 runs in 5 innings. Uthappa has stood his reputation as a match winner with two 50+ scores and has delivered whenever CSK needed him. Robin has bought his experience on the table and has shown the world why he is regarded highly as an opener and definitely deserved more than his base price of 2 crores.
5 – Ayush Badoni – Sold to LSG for a deal of the day's price of 20 Lakhs
“Don’t judge a book by its cover” We have heard this all our life but his small stature and not so muscular build not many would have backed Ayush Badoni to deliver punches above his weight. But Badoni had some different plans for this season. From being unsold player for 2 seasons to walking into pressure situations for LSG, Ayush Badoni has shown nerves of steel to win it for his franchise. Scoring 107 runs in 5 innings, more than the total score, Badoni has impressed the cricket pundits with his cool and composed nature when his team is down and out. The Delhi capitals would definitely be pinching themselves as they didn’t bid badoni even after calling him for trials where he bashed a quick fire 20 ball 51.
4 – Quinton De Kock - Sold for 6.75 Cr. to Lucknow Super Giants.
The South African wicket keeper batter, Quinton De Kock, is definitely one of the best keeper batters going around in this era. Known for his quick and fast hands behind the wickets, Quinny can take the game away from the opposition in a matter of few overs. Being sold for just 6.75 crores, De Kock definitely raised a few eyebrows after the auction. Standing tall in fourth position for the orange this season, Quinton has anchored the LSG innings every time, scoring 188 runs at an average of 37.60 with two 50s in five innings.
3 – David Warner – Winning bid of 6.25 crores by Delhi Capitals
The fiery Australian, David Warner, found his way back to the franchise from where it all started for Warner in IPL, the Delhi capitals. After a bidding war, Davi was sold at a price of 6.25 crores. The only overseas player to score more than 5,000 runs in IPL was left high and dry by SRH last year and was dethroned from captain ship. Looking for redemption this year, David has already scored a match winning innings of 65 runs against KKR. 1 – Yuzvendra Chahal – Lightening deal price of 6.5 Crores to Rajasthan Royal
The proud owner of the purple cap, Yuzvendra chahal has been absolutely sensational this year. After not being retained by RCB, Chahal was expected to go for big bucks by the cricketing pundits. Striking after almost every eight-ball, Chahal has picked up 11 wickets so far with an economy of 9.45 runs per over. Chahal has played a huge role in Rajasthan being at the top of the table after 22 matches in TATA IPL 2022, by picking wickets at regular intervals in the middle overs.
